Our recycling machines are pretty easygoing, but they can be a little particular at times. Here are a few tips to help you out:
First things first, double-check that the container you're trying to deposit is eligible for recycling in your specific state. As a general rule, our machines accept most standard plastic (PET) and aluminium beverage containers ranging from 150ml up to 3 litres. However, please note that containers for plain milk products are not accepted.
Once you've confirmed the eligibility, take a quick look at the barcode. Make sure it's visible and easily scannable. Also, ensure that both the container and label are intact. Some of our newer machines require containers to be inserted with the barcode facing up, so keep that in mind too.
If you've given it a couple of tries and the container still can't be accepted, no worries! Reach out to us with the location of the Reverse Vending Machine and snap a photo of the container (including the barcode). We'll pass on the information to our trusty technician in case there's an issue with the machine. We're here to help you troubleshoot any problems.
