What’s the difference between a Crunch account and a Containers for Change Account?

Crunch is the name of Envirobank’s rewards program. It runs only in states and territories that are supported by a Container Deposit Scheme.

When you sign up to Crunch you gain access to our awesome range of rewards. As a member, every time you recycle containers at our pods, depots or other container refund points, you can collect your refund payments as Crunch credits (15 Crunch credits is equal to 10 cents).

As these credits accumulate you can access bigger and better rewards, donate to charity, or can choose to cash out the balance to your bank account.

Alternatively, a Container for Change Account is operated through Queensland’s Containers for Change program.

When you sign up for an account with Containers for Change you are assigned a member number, which is a 9-character alphanumeric code that allows Container Exchange (COEX) to process your payments electronically. (This number was previously called a Scheme ID)

Crunch accounts and Containers for Change accounts go hand-in-hand: you can opt to have your payment made into your member number account when registering bags but the bags will be registered to your Crunch account for easy tracking on our end.
