When it comes to the condition of your containers for recycling, here's what you need to keep in mind:
Containers must be empty- Make sure your containers are empty before returning them. While rinsing isn't required, it's helpful to store them cleanly to avoid any unpleasant odours or mess.
Remove Lids- Lids can cause issues with our machinery and the overall recycling process and some states will not accept containers with lids still on.
Avoid Crushed Containers- Some container refund points may not be able to identify the barcode on crushed or damaged containers.
Intact Barcode- The barcode on your container needs to be readable. So, make sure the container isn't crushed, faded, or distorted, as this could prevent the machine from identifying it as eligible.
By following these guidelines, you'll help ensure a smooth recycling process and make it easier for our machines and staff to handle your containers.
Thanks for being an awesome recycler!
